Christos Zaroliagis received his Diploma degree in computer science & engineering and his PhD in computer science from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras, Greece, in 1985 and 1991 respectively.

In the periods 1985-1987 and 1991-1993 he was a researcher in the Computer Technology Institute in Patras participating in several research projects, including software development of programming environments, efficient algorithm design, and parallel computing.

From December 1993 till August 1998 he was a Research Associate in the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik, Saarbrücken, Germany, and in the period March 1998 till July 1999 he was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, King's College, University of London, UK.

Since August 1999, he is a Faculty Member in the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics, University of Patras, and a Senior Research Associate in the Computer Technology Institute (CTI), Patras, Greece.
