Abstract: In this talk, I will share my perspective on the ethical, technical, and societal challenges posed by artificial intelligence. As a computer engineer, my journey through academia and research has shaped my belief that we must approach AI with a critical and ethical mindset. I will discuss key challenges such as scalability, performance optimization, energy efficiency, data management, software portability, and fault tolerance. My focus is on advancing systems support for AI to benefit humanity, not profit motives, emphasizing the need for responsible and sustainable innovation in our field.
