Title: Hack by Heart, Secure by Soul
Summary: Cyber-security is one of the most modern and future areas of both scientific research and industrial application.
... Secure by Soul ... This Seminar focuses on the most important cyber security technologies used in everyday applications to protect both service users and their devices applications. Protocols and statutory security standards are presented and examples of the benefits of implementations, cryptography and security systems are analyzed. The experimental-measurement result is also presented in real-world conditions.
... Hack by Heart ... Special reference is made to the philosophy of attacks and violations, ICT systems and applications. It determines the behavior of the attackers, through real events and gives the motivations of different types of violations. The seminar ends with a valuation of the future developments that follow, with regard to applications and service users of everyday life.
About the speaker: Nikolas Sklavos is Associate Professor, Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras (www.ceid.upatras.gr). The thematic areas of his research involved are Applied Cryptography, Material Safety, Cyber Security, Digital Systems Design and the Internet of Things.
He has many years of experience in research and development projects, funded by European and National Resources, in the thematic areas of his research. He has developed a series of collaborations with academic institutions, research centers and companies within these programs. He is an expert - evaluator of the European Community Research Programs. He participates in publishing and organizing committees, in a large number of international scientific journals and conferences, of reputable international organizations such as IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier. He also participates as a distinguished speaker at international conferences, summer schools, and scientific meetings.
His research work has been published in a wide range of international journals and conferences, books, collective volumes and monographs, international scientific publications, which has received a large number of hetero references from the international scientific community.
