Division of Computer Software

The major challenges in computer science and technology, such as the efficient use of the Internet and support of the Web, the evaluation and support of large information systems, the retrieval of information from large databases, the development of intelligent techniques and systems, the human communication, the exploitation of new parallel architectures, and the effective solution of complex computing problems that arise at the forefront of computer science and technology are largely dependent on the research and development of the Division of Computer Software.
The Division aims to transmit and promote knowledge through high quality teaching and research and to provide laboratory support in the field of computer software. The work of the Division is inextricably linked to that of the other sectors of the department but also to all areas of science and technology that require new computing technologies.
