About

Computer architecture research grounded in microarchitectural mechanisms, measurable system behavior, and dependable operation.

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Architecture in the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department (CEID), School of Engineering, at the University of Patras, and a faculty member of the Technology & Computer Architecture Laboratory (TCAL). Before joining the University of Patras, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where I received my PhD in Computer Science in 2019.

My research studies how modern computing systems can be made more reliable, efficient, and trustworthy by connecting microarchitectural mechanisms with system-level behavior. I work across CPUs, GPUs, heterogeneous systems, RISC-V systems, and domain-specific and AI accelerators, with particular emphasis on hardware reliability and Silent Data Corruptions, microarchitecture-level fault injection, silicon and post-silicon validation, processor and memory microarchitecture, and microarchitectural modeling and simulation.

I also study how failures observed in real systems relate to the microarchitectural mechanisms that cause or propagate them: where corrupted state originates, how it crosses abstraction layers, when it is masked, and when it becomes a system-level failure. This perspective also informs my work on robust and energy-efficient computing.

My work has appeared in ISCA, MICRO, HPCA, and other leading computer architecture and dependability venues. It has received nine HiPEAC Paper Awards, the 2022 IEEE Transactions on Computers Best Paper Award, and the 2023 TTTC/ITC Gerald W. Gordon Student Award. My research experience includes European FP7, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe projects, as well as collaborations with IBM Research, Intel, AMD, and Meta.
