I have participated and led a variety of R&D projects with European and national funding including [BookSpace](http://old.hpclab.ceid.upatras.gr/home.php?action=projects_details&id=30&language=2), [BookTrade](http://old.hpclab.ceid.upatras.gr/home.php?action=projects_details&id=18&language=2), [Digitization of the Hellenic Cultural Content](http://old.hpclab.ceid.upatras.gr/home.php?action=projects_details&id=12&language=2), the [MINERVA](http://www.minervaeurope.org/) project series, [ATHENA](http://www.athenaeurope.eu), and the University of Patras Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training ([ΕΠΕΑΕΚ II](http://old.hpclab.ceid.upatras.gr/home.php?action=projects_details&id=39&language=2)) as well as its extension with innovative actions for semantic annotations of learning material, intelligent search and semantic interoperability.
I have been appointed deputy National Representative of Greece in the [National Representatives Group (NRG)](http://www.minervaeurope.org/structure/nrg.htm) for Coordinating Digitization in Europe and National Expert on Metadata and Interoperability for digitizing and preserving heritage assets. Among others, I have been part of a team for providing state-of-the-art techniques for the digital documentation, promotion and dissemination of information related to museums, archives and heritage institutions, including the Diazoma non-profit organization and the Greek Film Archive, and for developing innovative, semantic tools for their management and preservation.
