Software Engineering with emphasis on Information Systems Security
Dr. Aristeidis (Aristidis) Ilias has been Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (CEID) of the University of Patras since 2014. Prior to that, between 2003-2014, he was Laboratory Technical Staff at CEID, and Technical Manager of Information Technologies, Communications and Cyber Security of CEID.

He received his Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from CEID in 1998, the Master's degree in Computer Science and Technology in 2004, and the PhD from the University of Patras in 2025.

He has extensive teaching, research and professional experience. His research interests are in the areas of Software Engineering with emphasis on Information Systems Security, distributed systems and cloud computing, network and internet technologies, mobile device applications, large-scale network optimization, as well as the utilization of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

He has published several scientific articles at international scientific journals and conferences, books for academic and professional bodies, university notes and educational material for Lifelong Learning.

He has actively participated in the implementation of more than 85 national and international R&D and educational projects. He has held positions of responsibility at the University of Patras, the Hellenic Open University, the Computer Technology Institute and Press "Diophantus", the ATHINA research institute, and in the private sector.

He has significant experience in the development of proposals for R&D, as evaluator of deliverables of national and international R&D projects, in the drafting of technical bulletins and specifications, as well as in the management and monitoring of ICT projects. He has participated as a team leader or member in cyber defense exercises and innovation competitions (Microsoft's Imagine Cup, etc).

He has extensive teaching experience at CEID (having taught over 15 courses, including "Introduction to Programming and Computer Organisation", "Software Engineering", "Operating Systems", "Computer Networks", etc), in adult education, and is certified lecturer from recognized national institutions.
